Vino, Vino

Oh how I love the vino. We especially loved the vino on Christmas-- I believe somewhere in the vicinity of nine bottles were consumed.

But I especially love finding really good wine at a decent price. There will always be the cheap wine that tastes cheap but is drinkable and therefore worth purchasing, cheap. But on Christmas Eve I was clued in to the secret location of a little French wine shop called Marche Bacchus, tucked away inside a massive subdivision here in Las Vegas. They carry one of my favorite good deals-- Grand Mouton Noir cab/shiraz (better known as the "red sheep wine")-- for only $7.99 a bottle. I swear this tastes like $40 wine.

Veuve Clicquot(sp? better known as "that good champagne with an orange label") was a bargain at $41.99. It tasted lovely on Christmas morning with the Eggs Benedict and Hollandaise we made. And the shop contains a wondrous thing called the ORPHAN BIN. Apparently the Orphan Bin holds the very last bottle of whatever shipments they've almost sold out of. We got a $150 bottle of Spanish red for $16.99 and it was AMAZING. I love Marche Bacchus.

Now if only there was a definitive way to avoid the hangover.

With that much wine? I don't know how you avoid the hangover! LOL!

Wow. A $150 bottle of wine. Couldn't even imagine how good that tastes....

I am sooo jealous of you for having such a shop nearby.

Sounds like a lovely holiday though, hon. Even in spite of the hangover.
