Yo, s'me.
Wow, Dec. was the last time I updated? I guess what happened on New Year's Eve scarred me in more ways than one (not telling what, though, suffice to say it was more foolish than I'd imagined I was at 35 years of age).
Rebnted house good. Have not tried to flood my bathroom again lately by leaving the water in the upstairs sink running, which is good. Can see no mold growing on the ceiling downstairs.
But the Neighborhood association is on our case about the three square feet of lawn in the front yard. Apparently there are "dead spots," and the HOA rules dictate that all yards should be green. I did finally rake the dead leaves out of it (surprising how many dead leaves can accumulate in a 3x3 plot of grass) and bought fertilizer. Now if the winds would stop I could fertilize it. Hopefully the fertilizer I purchased isn't the wrong kind that will burn my remaining grass all to hell. How am I supposed to know what kind of grass it is? I'm a green thumb in Indiana but in the desert I'm hopeless.
Would they know if I used green spray paint?
Have a lovely weekend y'all,
K

And -- for the love of God, it's the DESERT. Grass is not supposed to grow there. If the rule just says green but does not specify live, dead, what have you, I would definitely be tempted to paint. Around here there are still half-mangled artificial trees left on curbs that haven't been picked up. I'd be tempted to scavenge those and try to arrange them in a half-way pleasing manner.

What happened on New Years Eve? Not asking for the gory details, just - are you okay? Is everything all right?
Oh, nothing much

And I would look at the HOA rules to see whether it specifies what kind of grass you have to have there. Maybe you can change it to gravel or natural desert plants?

Need I bring up the 'flag' controversy from the HOA's that pained me to no end a few years go ... because the HOA people were absoulte terrors to try and get interviews with?
Grrr. Good luck ... and hey, I promise to help 'fertilize' or 'rake' away if I can make it out there in June!
Aargh,
Can't wait until Melinda's parents come next weekend and my mom the week after that, 'cause we'll beg them to help. Bwah hah hah.

Can't help on the grass situation -- I am a black thumb. I look at green things and they die or sprout numerous weeds.
