Travel and Tired and Toothache!
Sep. 22nd, 2004 09:48 pm start whine
I always thought that when I got a job where I could travel, that would be the coolest thing in the world. I've found, however, that traveling for work is kind of a pain in the patootie. A month ago was the lodge resort retreat at Lake Tahoe and all I could think was that there were bugs in the room and I was tired of meetings and I wanted my Internet access dammit.
This time it was Santa Fe and though I have an excellent boss who likes to shop and says cool things like, "why don't you want an apple martini or how about another glass of wine, and don't forget we have to buy that hat you liked tomorrow," driving past the scenery to meetings is just not as fun as traveling for travel's sake, or even as fun as sitting around a friend's apartment reading fanfiction watching Hornblower again and again. (Me = geek.)
Late today was dentist. One crown being replaced for the third time. I swear next time I'm telling them to pull the damn thing. I think $2000 or so is more than enough to spend over the lifetime of a single tooth, right?
And I missed the release of the Star Wars DVD. Oh well, it'll give us something to do this weekend. We won't have to stay sober because we already know what happens. :)
::end whining::
It is cool to get to see new cities, so I shouldn't bitch. On to finishing my latest Hornblower fanfiction... and YES it's het. Bwah hah hah!
