Wow, everyone on American Idol has totally improved and took a step up this week! I was prepared for a boring season outside of Lakisha and Melinda and Chris Sligh, but I find myself really drawn to the others now as well, especially this week. And I loved the British Invasion song choices.
A couple of weeks ago
sharpeslass and I were wondering, "how did these people get this far?" But there was obviously some raw talent the producers/judges saw, 'cause those vocal coaches and guest song coaches really brought out something. Melinda is always good; Blake was really good and fun, though I would never have thought he'd be the type I'd like to watch.
But man, LAKISHA. She gives me cold chills when she sings. She's this 29-year-old single mom who worked at a bank, but she has amazing control over her voice and can hit all the ranges and timing pauses SPOT-ON. The judges didn't think it was her best, but both
sharpeslass and I were in a stunned sort of awe-state when she was done. WOW. And Jordin, she gave me cold chills also. She's 17 and I totally bought the heartache of the song she sang. Wonderful.
