MIskellaneous Stuff
Jan. 23rd, 2013 10:52 amHowdy, all! I swear I read LJ every day, even if I don't post much. :) Not much going on here -- I have been trying some teas, thanks to recommendations from you all. I bought some lapsang souchong from nuts.com, and OMG I LOVE IT. It tastes like campfires from my YMCA Indian Princess days. It tastes amazing with cream and a teensy bit of sugar.
(Was anyone else ever in Indian Princess? It was a father/daughter Y program with camping and tribes and learning about Native American things ...)
I also went in on an Adagio Teas order with a coworker, and picked up some summer Darjeeling and the Assam Melody, to try those out. The T-sacs work great, so thanks for the rec on those!
Lessee, other stuff. It's cold here. Very cold. Oh, Mom and I have already gotten tickets to six Cincinnati Reds games this summer, and the Reds Caravan is in town this weekend. We're going to head up to the northside early Saturday morning and stalk Homer Bailey and the Reds announcers. Mom and I are also going to see Shen Yun in a couple of weeks -- it's like a Chinese dance and song thing? Looks very cool, anyway.
Fuu is good. Which reminds me -- I need to call and book her a grooming appointment, because she's getting all shaggy. We love the groomer we found, but the first time we took her she was weird for a few days after, like tail-droopy, and seemed to have a back injury. However, that visit coincided with some other things going on, such as a weekend visit from my friend's three children; a couple of them kept trying to pick Fuu up but she was too heavy and they'd drop her like a cat and I was like PLEASE DON'T DO THAT SHE DOESN'T LAND ON HER FEET and put a moratorium on any of the kids picking her up. Maybe she was traumatized by that, despite normally liking children? Or maybe her weird was caused by the day at the groomers and stress at having to be around other dogs, whom she hates, for six hours
