Scary Lounges

Friday saw one of my very few forays into the scary Las Vegas Lounge scene. Of course it was the Voodoo Lounge (51st floor of the Rio), and while it used to be THE spot to go dance/drink/pick up tourists in Las Vegas, apparently all the really scary trendy people now go to Ghostbar or Rain at the Palms. So there were actually normal-looking people in our age range there rather than Barbies and Kens in their clubbing clothes. (Ever been at the Palms after 10:00 p.m. on a Saturday? Shrieeeek!) Still, there was a line of 100 people waiting to get into this place, which we thankfully bypassed.

Rude drunken Irishmen aside (and sharpeslass has the bruises to prove it), we had a fine time. thehood got us dinner at Elements at the Aladdin, a very good and underrated restaurant, and a private table at Voodoo Lounge. Which included little waitresses in bustiers pouring drinks at the table, and a balcony with a lovely view of the city. (See pictures.) May in Las Vegas really is very pretty.

You're too funny! I still remember the hideous picture of us in the hotel room at the Stratosphere that hubby took. Gods, I miss Vegas! Even the not-so-good nights are fun!

LOL, thanks! Yeah, from all the pics of any event where I remember to take my camera, you can always see the progression from (1) just got all prettified and posing in the house to (2) drunk and grinning like morons.
