I remember this song! Fun song.

I had the Fifth Dimension's first album (at least I think it was their first - it predates this song) and played it to death. I guess that proves just how much older than you I am.

I know! I'm so hippie-ish. ;) Not!

I can imagine my mom listening to this song on the radio, though, when she was about to pop.

::hugs::

Oooh, Beatles! If I'd waited another week to pop out it would have been a Beatles song. :)

Do you? Hee! I think we actually had Fifth Dimension on 8-track in our house... along with Bread and Wings!

OMG BREAD! They're right up there with America! And 8-tracks **snickers** I loved the dropout that happened when the tape switched tracks.

My mom LOVED Bread. I can still sing every Bread song that was on her 8-track. :) (I actually like it, too. I think it's nostalgia!)

There's a lot of old stuff I heard when I was growing up that I still listen to! Mostly my older brothers turned me on to music. I've found, too, that I'm more appreciative now of the genres/musicians my dad liked as well! ^___^

That's still one of my favorite songs! I had that album, too - and at least one other of theirs. Wedding Bell Blues, Puppet Man, One Less Bell to Answer, Up Up & Away... Ah memories!

You are a vegetarian, so by definition you are a dippy-trippy, earthy-crunchy, birkenstock wearin' dirty, hippie. Until you sit down and eat you a rare, steaming, bloody steak, this will be so.

*makes no effort to hide horrible jealousy over your very cool song*

My mom had their stuff on an 8-track! She really dug the mellow stuff. Some of that late 60s-early 70s light rock I still listen to. :)

DUDE!!! You can not have the police. No one should be young enough to have that song. It just makes me too damned old. I loved that song. LOVED Sting. (It is good creepy). But it is far, far too new. Pick something else. Like "I'm a Believer." That is old enough to be a birthday song. No more 80s for you. We're officially changing your age to keep me from depression. Consol yourself with the fact that people are going to say you look reaaaaallly young for your age (this song choice makes you 43, btw).

Best police album EVER. One of the first pop music LPs I ever purchased. (My born-again-christian aunt burned my cousin's copy because the skeletons on the cover made her believe it was satanic. Ya... the police were always inspiring devil fingers. *sigh* Silly religious people. No wonder my cousin is strange).

I don't have any Fifth Dimension anymore, but I have The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, a Grateful Dead album (American Beauty), and some others from that era.

The lyrics are creepy.

I liked "Roxanne" (their first hit, from an earlier album) better.

Hmm... whoring or stalking? All fun subjects. Still, Sting has a very pure voice. All of the Police albums were good, IMHO, and I had all of them.
(I like the Moulin Rouge version of Roxanne a lot as well.)
