Thank you all, my most wonderful f-list, for the lovely birthday wishes, e-cards, profile gifts, gift certificates and everything, and just for being so nice to me on my birthday yesterday and every other day! ::snif:: You rock, so much.

My girl [livejournal.com profile] inksheddings wrote me a hot-hot-hot Saiyuki fic, lucky me! It's Sanzo/Gojyo, turned on its head with a fabulous, sassy, bossy Gojyo! Mmmmmrowr! Check it out: Halfway Gone (it's NSFW but worth it if you won't get caught, heh).

My far-off roomie [livejournal.com profile] sharpeslass gave me some necessary and awesome makeup: Benefit concealer and some Urban Decay eyeshadow in super-cool packaging; it's like the Swiss Army knife of eye-makeup packaging. :) ::hugs::

Sigh, I've acquired my stuff from the truck, and then a storage unit since my family greedily took over all the space I used to have in the house. Sheesh, I was only gone eight years! What's up with that?

Now I'm updating my resume. Any thoughts on resumes? I downgraded the formality of my 2002 resume to sound more natural and less dorky-formal-- such as, I changed it to first-person (I did this, I did that); is that a good or bad idea, d'ya think? Are employers looking for stiff-folk these days? I spent a long time in Las Vegas, where a little cleavage is de rigeur and pantyhose are never a good idea. I have no idea what these non-west-coast-ish employers want.

And does anyone have suggestions on what to do with a great, honkin' pile of 80s LPs? All well-listened to?

::hugs you all::

OMG PLAY THOSE RECORDS! **covets**

Eh hem.

I think the resume should be a comfortable fit for you since you are selling yourself. As for clothes, on interviews, I would go a tad on the conservative side (unless you are applying to someplace funky and hip), and after you land the job, you'll be able to see how everyone else is dressing ...

Just one quick comment: think long and hard before you get rid of your vinyl, if the mood ever strikes you!!! I had over 300 LP's from the late 60's to late 80's, some of which were rare and very hard to find, and when I bought a very small condo in 1990 in a fit of de-cluttering and lightening my load, I sold them all.

I really don't care all that much for possessions, generally, and if the whole house burned down, there are only a few things I would cry over, but 20 years later, I still miss some of those records. Many of them have never been put on CD, or are only available as very expensive imports, and I've never been able to afford to replace all the ones I got rid of that I really hated to let go of. And even when you get the CD's, the album cover art is shrunk to the point of being unrecognizable, the original album inserts are reduced, different, or just not there. So the moral of the story is: they may not seem like much to you now, but someday you might really wish you had them.

Oh, God, I need a suit, don't I? Eeeeeeeee!

And yeah, I love the LPs and would probably play some of them, IF I had a turntable. The parents got rid of my stereo some time in that eight years, but not the LPs.

Any in particular you're looking for?

(Some I'll never listen to again or have on CD, and a lot of that old punk/alternative stuff is selling for decent prices, so E-bay, here I come!)

I'm so glad you had a good day!

There are turntables which will turn your LPs to mp3s?

I missed your birthday? Damn. Hope it was good. And you moved? Damn. Was hoping to catch in Vegas again soon. Ebay for the LP's. Some collector will buy them. Much love.

Thank you! I've decided to hold onto some of them-- and others, which I'm not so attached to but are hard to find, I'm selling on E-bay. (The only punk I still listen to, I mostly have on CD!)

To MP3s, really? Huh! I know my parents want a turntable, because they have so many old records, so maybe we'll look for one of those. :)

Thank you! And hee, I noticed I still had an old number of yours stored in my cellphone... I wonder if it's still good?

I'd still love to catch up with you in person again, some day. ♥♥

Yeah, I did a quick check on Amazon and they seem to range from $75-150 to OH MY GOD I WOULDN'T PAY THAT MUCH FOR A PONY. I keep thinking I want one someday.

Yow, that is a little pricey... considering a DVD-player that plays anything is only $25 at Target! But it sounds cool.

Yeah, that's why I haven't bought one yet! But I have these albums, and my mom and dad have a bunch and...yes.
