Post-Holiday Update!

jedishampooHello, everyone! I haven't posted in a bit but I still read every day. I've had a few posts here and there on my tumblr but nothing major. :)
I'm also going to attempt to crosspost this to DW. (I'll ask again, just to be annoying: I imported my LJ to my DW once, but have NOT been updating the DW regularly. If I import from LJ again on DW, will it erase everything I've already imported to DW, or add to it, or overwrite it, or just cause an internet calamity?
Anyway, a few pics!
Firstly, thanks to everyone who sent me a card! I was so thrilled with them all. They're still on my counter, but since I'm taking down decorations today, I thought I'd get a pic of how neato my breakfast bar looks:
My card this year was awesome, I think, thanks to my friend S with the art skillz. He did me a Tiger & Bunny artwork of Wild Tiger and Blue Rose for the front, and a little Santa-America chibi for the back:
I bought a little 6' tree and put lots of lights on it, and was so pleased with how pretty the rest of my living room looked:
This year for Christmas, I was lucky to have my friend Becky and her three kids, since she had them that weekend and nowhere to stay (it's complicated). So we played Santa. Here are the kiddos in front of the tree -- they're 16, 11 and 9:
And here's me and Becky, who's been my friend since we were 12. We might have been drunk santas, because I had people over for Christmas Eve and we drank lots of mulled wine and rum-filled eggnog:
And lastly, for background to the sad taking down of the decorations, here's the current weather. It's our first snow of the winter (a late snow!) and it looks like we live in the Arctic, what with how crazily the wind is blowing:

Date: 2012-01-02 07:03 pm (UTC)If you re-import, it will only import what's not already there, so don't worry about it. If you want to mirror what's on your LJ on DW, though, you need to crosspost -- that is, make your entires on DW and have them crossposted to LJ. (There's no ability to do it the other way around.) It's weird and a little counterintuitive at first, but in the long run it's easier, although other than LJ's stupid design changes to RTE, DW's RTE is buggier -- for me, at least -- than LJ's.
Thanks for the pics! That's quite a collection of cards. Good luck weathering the storm.
ETA: Damn it, forgot to ask you what your Tumblr is called, as I broke down and created one. (Mostly because an LJ friend is only posting her fanart there.) Mine is the same as here: lawless523.
