Randomness and bars and music

My brother's 40th birthday was Saturday, so after I went grocery shopping at midnight (I'm making a vegetable soup Sunday), I went across the street to the bar where he was celebrating with friends. It was SO DAMNED SCARY. Holy moley, I don't think I've been in a Hoosier bar since I moved back here in 2010. Lots of Hoosiers. Er. Good thing I had on my Starfleet Academy sweatshirt and my track pants and Chuck Taylor low-tops on or the men would've been all over me. (snork)
BUT ... I was happy that I knew all the artists they played at insane, no-conversation volume. I was all "oh, this is Nicki Minaj" or "sounds like Eminem" or "Ke$ha has a new song," or "oh, it's Usher." DUDE, I'm so current, haha.
In my opinion, though, from 1995 to about 2006, the world of popular music was a barren wasteland of crap. But all of a sudden, the last few years, pop music has gotten fun again. Though driving home, I listened to the iPod and have to say that Depeche Mode's "Violator" is still a nearly perfect album.
Have you seen this video? Hahaha. LMFAO, lterally:
