2. Favorite genre of fic?

I would say ... romance/porn? I likes 'shipping fic, and always have -- I can get buddy-mance and adventure and stuff from the canons usually, and have always turned to fanfic for the more romantic or sexual aspects.

3. Favorite fandom?

Oh gosh, I would have to say Saiyuki, even though I've been in and out of it. It has an amazing canon that grips me visually and emotionally and nostalgia-wise and adventure-wise and ... everything. It has the best overall fic and writers, and is so participatory when it needs to be. Plus I've met the awesomest people through it. EEEEE!

10. Favorite trope/element/scenario in fic?

I loves me some sex-pollen/fuck-or-die/dubcon. Gives it all to me, precious.

11. Least favorite trope/element/scenario?

Urgh, a year ago I would have said bdsm, at least the "real" bdsm, because the ritual sadism and masochism leave me cold. But lately I'd have to tack on most A/B/O-verse fics, because holy crap, mpreg, OOCness and erasure of women much? Plus they've become ubiquitous! (I say this as someone who's written an Alpha/Omega fic, but I did it all wrong anyway.)

12. What turns you away the most from a fic?

Probably epithets? The second I see 'em I'm usually outtie. After that, OOC schmoopiness.

What's A/B/O? :U

Alpha/Beta/Omegaverse ... basically someone in some fandom somewhere came up with an AU verse where men are alphas or omegas and the omegas have man-ovaries and go into heat and require an alpha to do 'em, and they're very weepy and want only babeez! And the alphas are very butch and take them some omegas and there's knotting and marathon sex and the omegas have the babeez outta their butts. Oh, and there's soulbonding and all sorts of id-tastic things.

It caught on and now nearly every fandom has A/B/O fics, and some have LOTS AND LOTS of A/B/O fics. The Hetalia kinkmeme is chock-full of Omegaverse prompts. (I've never seen one in Saiyuki, however,)

I did an Alpha/Omega fic but with no mpreg and basically did it only for the dubcon and marathon sex, thus I was doin' it wrong. :)

Knotting has something to do with, um, canines I think? Pack mentality and something canines do in sex which I don't want to think about too hard and so which I've never actually looked up. :)

Soulbonding is pretty much what you might think it is... we've mated and made love and therefore we have imprinted on each other and will be 2-GETHER 5-EVER! We might even be able to talk to each other with OUR MINDS. Ugghhh...

Knotting is something dog penises do during sex. It increased the likelihood of impregnation.

Theoretically, women are A/B/O also and omega women can become pregnant too, but no one ever writes about them. A/B/O bears a slight resemblances to BDSM/Directedverse (named after the fic "Take Clothes Off As Directed"), where everyone is born top or sub (I know, those aren't the terms that are usually paired together), it supposedly determines or is related to personality, everyone's bisexual (I think), and only top/sub pairings are "normal" and other pairings (top/top and sub/sub) and switches are not. It's a way of importing traditional gender dynamics into a same sex relationship in order to comment on them. One of the earliest ones has Colonel John Sheppard from Stargate: Atlantis as a sub, and everyone's astonished that a sub is capable of military command, that kind of thing.

You're welcome! It's funny, epithets bother me now (I used to use them to a small degree when I was a n00b), but not as much as more overarching things like OOCness, plot holes, and implausibilities. Epithets would have to be used a lot for me to back button because of them.

32. Favorite AU tropes? Age of Sail/ Regency AUs! I would read a Regency AU of just about anything. :) Plus there's so much you could do with just about any character + frilly shirts and boots + ships.

33. Least favorite AU tropes? The aforementioned A/B/O. Also, most High School AUs because high school sucked and now I'm old, there is no to be reading about high school for me. Unless it's teacher x teacher. :)

41. Favorite fluffy tropes? FLUFFY tropes? You make it hard, lady! Um. Do first-times count? I guess they can be very not-fluffy, but in hetfics I like them nice and sweet and dorky.

42. Least favorite fluffy tropes? Oh gosh, any of those "I'm going to ask X to marry me" fics. Eww!

44. How fluffy is too fluffy? Almost any fluff is too much fluff. Most pet-names between characters will send me right over the edge. Fluffy has to be done jussssst right.

13. Has a fic ever made you cry? Nope. I must admit, never cry at written fiction or comics! I've only ever cried at one book and I was 16 and it was a Jude Deveraux romance novel and I still can't explain that one. I will admit to choking up writing one once ...

Oh, gosh, I'm not really into pain at all, but I read lots of canons with lots of beating up so I'm jaded. Mostly I would hate seeing animals in horrible pain?

Nooooo, I must admit to little to no interest in high-school-aged characters in general, which makes lots of manga/anime hard for me to read! College I could do, or teacher x teacher, probably!

22. Biggest turn-ons in fic? Voyeurism, UST, and DUB-CON, BABY. I loooooove dubcon, I'll admit it. As long as it's fictional, of course, and the character being dubconned is an ice princess who of course sekritly wants it. LOVE THAT SHIT.

23. Biggest turn-offs in fic? Pornwise, real-lifey BDSM stuff with safewords and aftercares and masochism. And catheters. Basically, really latexy-kinky stuff; I'm so vanilla? Condoms and sex-preachiness; I want fantasy porn.

Gah, I gotta admit, lady, I am having a hard time thinking of porn fics that you wouldn't have read. Hee! my recs would all be Saiyuki, because the porn just hasn't been as good in other fandoms I've been in. There's some halfway decent Hetalia stuff. but not porn.
