OMG I love the Internets
Aug. 26th, 2005 02:14 pmThe stuff that lingers on the Internet long after you think you and yours have deleted them...
Please be warned ahead of time that there are some links to some safe AND non-work-safe, NC-17 pics and words below the cut:
1) Back in the day, in 1999 when fanfiction.net had like 40 Star Wars stories, my best-guy-friend Arco wrote what are still probably the grossest and most shocking Star Wars stories ever. (This is when I was writing PG-rated Obi-Wan het.) His stories were so messed up that I had trouble reading some of them (and still do). I think he had like several hundred either hating or loving reviews on his first evil masterpiece, “Psychotic Jedi F**kfest.” But ya had to admire his creativity and use of decent grammar and spelling. (BTW, he also wrote some other good stuff which is still on fernwithy’s Star Wars page and in the TFN archive. At some point I will update my own webpage with some things as well.)
He removed these stories from the web long ago. But apparently they are still cached and being read today!
hungrysarlacc, who posts some pretty hysterical lines from Star Wars badfics, featured PJF a week or so ago: Quotes from “bad” Star Wars fanfiction (it’s the one at the top).
2) Arco himself pointed me toward someone who has apparently created fan-art based on the story: NON Work-Safe Picture. The legacy. Sigh.
3) I discovered that a four-year-old picture of me from WorldCon 2001 is on the internet, on Hotornot.com. Here’s me tan and 10 lbs. thinner. (How the heck do I get that off of there?)
4) And a Google search revealed that when I first started posting fanfiction, I put my real name on there. Why, oh why?
So the Internet isn’t as fleeting as one might think. Help!
PS: My new Icon! Quote from Eddie Izzard! Sorta!

Date: 2005-08-28 04:52 pm (UTC)Bwahahah, he's a phenomenon! I sent the link to my best friend,
I was debating a "Speederbike" icon myself! But I did make an icon from this story he wrote for me once
OMG, that is too funny! The icon made me LMAO! *g*
(Someone had taken one of my character names and created Fanon around it, so he wrote an An-Paj story on TFN. Hopefully the wank factor has died down by now, three years later. I really liked the story.)
Bwahaha, wow! Created some controversy, didn' it?! LOL!
I laughed till I cried when I saw the fanart. Glad I could reconnect you with the past! :) Yup, you would be the one to read the naughty stories, you!
Who, me? 0;-) Heeheehee! Well, you know what my desktop wallpaper is now! (My sister almost snorted a beverage out of her nose when she saw it because I've only ever told her of the fabled fanfic and I think she didn't really believe I wasn't just making it up!)
Peace, Ghani
