Well, after the first three or so episodes we were ambivalent about the series, but we finally got to some cute episodes last night and now
sharpeslass says she is definitely hooked.
I'm not quite to "Browncoat" status yet but I don't mind seeing what happens. :) I liked the kidnapping one. And the one about the raid on the hospital. And the one with Saffron (the first one. The second one is OK too).
I think
sharpeslass is hooked mostly because she says that the new love of her life is Jayne. Jayne! She says she has a weakness for big, dumb, and layered. And apparently there is plenty of Jayne fanfiction for her to assimilate. Jayne gives me the oogies, but I think that's because of the actor's stints as the spooky Wolfram and Hart guy on Angel and the complete double-crossing weenie in The Patriot. She also likes Crazy-Girl River. I want River to be smacked. It's the ESTJ in me, I guess.
Zoe is pretty cool, feminine and yet kick-ass. I also like Simon and Kaylee. Oh, the episode where they flashed back to how they all joined Serenity was cute. The captain is just plain annoying. I know there is supposed to be the whole UST thing between him and Inara, but I don't know... their conversations are too scripted and Joss-ized for me to buy it. All Mal's lines sound like something Angel would say. But as usual with Joss creations (for me, anyway), the side characters are way more interesting than the heroes.
Ah well, that's it. We've run out of three Firefly DVDs from Netflix and now
sharpeslass (who has to figure out how to use her own damn journal) says we must to Blockbuster to get whatever's left, because she can't wait otherwise and because she had already, unknowingly because swe hadn't watched Firefly yet, moved Orgazmo and Cannibal the Musical to the top of the Netflix queue based on last weekend's obsession with Trey Parker. (I showed her Baseketball. Personally I have the raging hots for Matt Stone.) I've seen Orgazmo and Cannibal the Musical. Not really must-sees, but I'd be willing to sit through them again.
Oh well. Off to the Bad Place-- Ross (Hell)-- to find a Bajoran comfort woman dress. I was going to dress as a Jedi for Quark's Halloween Bash but
sharpeslass says that if she has to dress as a Bajoran comfort woman, then so do I. We'll look better in pictures, she says. Pictures. Bah! I want no evidence! ;)
