Just a few more pictures! Of course I took dozens, but I am a crappy photographer so these are the best, I think.

Kauai: this is a beach just north of Kapaa on the East coast, I believe. Kapaa was very cute, with little shops and "Bubba's Burgers" which served a very tasty veggie burger. There were lots of college students and hitchhikers here, as there were in Hanalei. Carry your board and hitch a ride to the beach! No one swam here, and why, you can probably guess.

Kauai: this is my Mom in front of a storefront in Hanapepe, where Disney got the inspirations for the houses and village in "Lilo and Stitch." I bought Art here.

Kauai: BUT I was afraid to cross this famous Hanapepe hanging rope bridge. I got a third of the way across and wimped out, as it was swinging and I was slightly nauseous. Strange, as I was not seasick whenever we went out on boats.

Kauai: this is on the Western coast, near the Na Pali cliffs. We snorkeled in this spot. My first time snorkeling! And I must admit I was scared here also. But when the pre-teens kept jumping in, I decided to go for it.

Kauai: Me deciding whether or not to snorkel. Laughing because they put a bubble-vest on me. But when other people on the sail cruise saw me getting the vest, they got one also, so I wasn't too embarrassed in the end. I saw parrotfish and some black fish. The swell was pretty high, but luckily I did not drown or choke on the snorkel.

Kauai: the "Captain's Bar" at the Grand Hyatt. I spent a lot of time here cooling off from laying on the beach. They served something called a "Tai Chi, the Mai Tai of Champions." Four kinds of rum and juice. Many's a time when the Captain's Bar closed and I was left wondering, "why is the rum gone?"

Big Island: ooops, I missed this pic earlier. My mom in front of one of those freaky, up-close volcanic steam vents. You could get a facial from one, if you didn't pass out from the sulphur fumes first.

OK, that's pretty much it. I loved Hawaii much, I thought its people were friendly and that they very much appreciated the natural beauty of their location. I learned that even the ancient Hawaiians surfed. If I go back, I too will learn to surf. But now the real world intrudes. :)
