Renfaire!

Well, I couldn't go to HHUS2006, but we could go to a Renaissance Faire! After our SATURDAY WORK MEETING that lasted until 2:30 p.m., argh. Ah well, that's why they pay me the big money (not).

Here's us when we first arrived. We almost didn't go in our outfits, 'cause we spent a lot of money on them and it was raining pretty hard all day (in Las Vegas!). Thankfully the rain stopped.

This next one is my favorite picture, 'cause we look like we're sloshed (and we are):


The way you get sloshed off of mere BEER is to not eat all day 'cause you know you're getting into a corset, then put ON the corset (which does NOT allow you to eat), then walk around a Renaissance Faire with a constantly-refilled mug of beer. Then try to go through shops without purchasing anything. Apparently I bought a new pirate belt-- I'm wearing it in this picture-- 'cause I'd been wearing my Jedi belt with the pirate costume, and when I got home found a white poofy shirt I suspect looks like Howl's from Howl's Moving Castle. Yeah, so I have a crush on a cartoon, sue me. It'll be a new costume, just you watch. :)

As always, I find myself in awe of your outfits, and the fun you are having without me. *sniff*

And why, I ask myself daily, am I doing this damned PhD program? Why am I putting myself through this? I just sink deeper every day.

But I'm so happy you guys had a good time and you both look fabulous! Dang it, I miss you!
