Nostalgia is Stupid
Aug. 2nd, 2008 10:40 pmSo this is dumb. During my visit home to Indiana, I mailed a few boxes of stuff to myself in Las Vegas, hoping to sell, on E-bay, some of my extensive collection of crap that I haven't seen in six years. I win by making money, my parents win because my crap is out of their house, everybody wins.
Except... one box was full of Nintendo and Super Nintendo games. I took pictures, listed them on E-bay, and instantly received a couple of requests to sell them now (rather than the auction format I put them up in). So I'm like, what's worth something here? And in researching games and whatnot on E-bay, I saw so many games I used to play and read the glowing descriptions and it made me want to play the games. Zelda A Link to the Past? That was a blast. And Megaman X2 and Super Mario World and Mario Kart? SO MUCH FUN back in the day.
WAIT: I'm supposed to be selling the damned things, not buying more, right? I haven't had a Super Nintendo console since 2002, when I gave it away. Then on E-bay I found NEW game systems that will play both Nintendo and Super Nintendo games, and the systems are only $49.99 each! WOW, imagine the fun!
Except... I already have an N64, a PS2, and a GameCube that are gathering dust... Remind me, please, that selling stuff is GOOD and I have other hobbies now and that these games will only gather dust, too, along with the super-special console, if I buy that. Please, I need your help. ;)

Date: 2008-08-03 09:13 pm (UTC)It was in a box...under another box...under 3 Space-Bags full of yarn and fabric...covered with about 2 inches of dust...and surrounded by things I haven't seen in a very long time. Oh, god I can't throw anything away! *cry*
But I don't even have a TV set to play games on. So maybe if I sell or give away all of this random crap that I don't use I will have money and space for more Saiyuki crap! ^_^
