So what a weekend. I didn't see ROTS until Friday night, which I think is longest I've waited to see a new Star Wars movie since convincing my dad to drive us to Return of the Jedi.

Really, though, it's a good thing, because I'd have had to work Thursday and Friday. Because ever since seeing the movie I've been mostly unable to think about anything else. I don't think I slept an hour Friday night. In the last couple of years other things have taken up more of my time and energy (::cough Hornblower:: ::cough Tolkien::) and Star Wars had lost just a little bit of its significance.

But, just, wow. What a great movie. I wept like a little bitch. All three times. And I've never cried at a Star Wars movie.

The relationship between Obi-Wan and Anakin was always what I'd hoped-- fun, different, more brotherly than that between Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon-- and it made Anakin's destiny that much more hard to swallow and that much more heart-wrenching. The poor kid was created for it; he had no choice. And the way they did it; graphic and too, too sad.

I'd forgotten what Star Wars once made me feel, but now I remember. And there aren't any more to wait for! Who cares about the TV show... No Obi-Wan, no Anakin?! Wahhhhhhhhh!!!

Must go to Burger King and add to my burgeoning collection (currently consisting of lil' Vader/Ani and Obi-Wan)! Must visit We Be Toys! Aaargh! Damn you George Lucas!

You are not alone. This movie takes over your life. It's kinda scary. Uncle George surprised me in ways I didn't think possible, and my emotional reaction is just too intense. And the BK toys are very cute.
