1. Apparently, I have no wax, infection, spiders, aliens, unborn twins, etc. in my ear. The doctor saw almost nothing except perhaps a "little fluid behind," i.e, possibly allergies or congestion? And she saw the same thing in the other ear. So why does the right ear tickle and thump at me so? Argh. I am to take something "D" (either Allegra D or Mucinex D) and use nosedrops for two weeks, and if it's not better, then I get referred to an ENT specialist.

Although she laughed when I told her about my friends' "spider" theories, she said that when working in a free clinic in an indigent area, once, she saw a cockroach in someone's ear. Eww.

1.5. Speaking of bugs, I'm getting the bug-man out yet AGAIN, though we just had him out a few weeks ago. Darn this desert in July! I swear, I don't want to see one more ant or one more giant freakin' water roach in my bathroom. I was squealing like a baby piglet the other night at the giant bug in our airlock (the area between our garage and family room). Ewww!

2. 5000 words on my [livejournal.com profile] 7thnight_smut story so far. And my awesome, handy-dandy, live-in beta, [livejournal.com profile] sharpeslass, cleared the first 3000 words or so for continuation. Yay!

3. I have like three Dreamwidth invite codes, if anyone wants them. I set up an account there (jedishampoo there also), but I have no intention of posting in places outside LJ for now.

The alien or unborn twin would have made an awesome story, though, wouldn't they? *sigh*

BUGS ARE NOT COOL. Too many legs, most of which are spindly. Do. Not. Want.

2. \o/ (I have wordcount envy. Please ignore the unattractive green color suffusing my complexion.) But AWESOMESAUCE! You go, girl. You go.

Bugs Bad. Especially giant bugs that run at the speed of lightning.

2. Bwahah, 6400 words last night at 11:00, and not done yet. I am actually loving writing this and do not want to stop for icky WORK. :) (I should be careful with what I say, though, because what if the finished product sucks?)

You have an icon of CHEESE! So I give you BLOO.

BLOO! \o/

Bugs are horrifying. o.o

2. BIGGER ENVY. I must use my Mighty Zakuro icon to offset my hardcore wordcount covetousness.

Zakuro!

2. And ACK! If it makes you feel any better, I have just discovered a massive plot mistake visible to anyone who can use wikipedia or google or who may have even heard of what I'm writing about. MUST FIX HALP.

(Using World of Illusion icon, in hopes of mind-befuddling anyone who reads my story.)

ZAKURO FTW! It's an almost unholy love that I have of him...

2. :-O I've got a few, but I'm going to handwave and be all, "AU, PUNKS. I can be anachronistic / confused / MAKE SHIT UP if I want. Heh." But you caught it, yay! Go you, your bad, high-wordcount self. *high-fives* o/

Ew, cockroach in ear! XD *nightmares*

(--This may not be it, either, but: do you clench your jaw a lot, or grind your teeth? I do (diagnosed as TMJ), and I sometimes get symptoms sort of like the ones you're describing. Just a thought!)

Date: 2009-07-14 04:33 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] jedishampoo.livejournal.com
I've heard of TMJ and wondered if I was borderline-- I do clench my jaw when stressed-- but I'd never thought the tickling feeling and deafness might be related? Huh... if it doesn't clear up I'll ask about it. Thank you!

I hope the D works. I should have remembered my MD recommended Claritin D, but I hate the speedy feeling I get from pseudophedrin (sp?).

I'm glad it was nothing serious. **hugs**

I do, too! I used to be on Allegra D but figured out that I wasn't sleeping. ;p

Apparently Mucinex D has much less D (pseudephedrine?) than Allegra D, so I'll give it a try.

Thank you! ::hugs back:: Amazingly sexy Gojyo icon, BTW.

Nope.. spiders. INVISIBLE SPIDERS! That's my story and I am sticking to it!

*snorts, flails and once again runs*

ok the cockroach was really gross - doctor for the win!

Interesting diagnosis (or lack thereof). Perhaps the spiders were scared off by our mere suggestion of them....

And yet another reason why I could live in Vegas. The bugs are bad enough here, thankyouverymuch.

Well, I'd say that I'm happier overall with the bug situation here as compared to back east, because of lack of mosquitos, flies, things like that.

BUT... the cockroaches are ubiquitous and BIGGER. They're not the kind that get in your food, thankfully, but they're still scary-looking.

Could be sinus-related, babe. I got that some years ago - and let it alone, and blood... it happened. EW

Get your meds and stay safe! Only SCORPIOs are cool not scorpions or any other bug. >_

Yup, got the meds. Hopefully I can take care of it... Thank you!

Cockroachs of all kinds...eeeeeeeew...although as a side note: "Water Roach" sounds like something Goku would call Gojyo during one of their pointless squabbles over food or the seating space in the jeep.

I should send you Butters (The cat) who is quite fond of devouring bugs of all shapes and sizes (gross, but useful)

Hope your ear feels better soon!

Date: 2009-07-14 04:35 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] jedishampoo.livejournal.com
OH, please send Butters. I wish M's cat (the elderly Nina) would eat these bugs. She is not interested in anything small and crawly, which disappoints me. It seems birds were her forte.

:) Thank you!

Ew, bugs!! **flails** I do not like bugs of ANY sort. Bleh! My husband laughs at me when I race for the can of Raid to drown the ants, or spiders, or house centipedes, or whatever sort of creepy happens to wander into the house. Bleh.

But glad to hear it's not anything serious with the ear! Hopefully the drops clear things up!

Go you for the [livejournal.com profile] 7thnight_smut!! I love stories that I really get into writing (and yeah, work is evil. EVIL!)

From: [identity profile] jedishampoo.livejournal.com
Heh, bug man is coming this morning, I have the day off to get my hair done, and I'm going to hopefully write, write write! :)

Oh, we totally drown them, too. The giant bug from the other night, in the airlock? It was swimming in raid. Eww.

Eww! I have a kind of phobia that some insect will crawl into my ear while I'm sleeping or lying on the grass. Thanks god we don't have any insects at home. And I'm shit scared of cockroaches of any size. Though the huge ones look especially horrible >.<

Hope you won't need any ENT specialist *hugs*

Date: 2009-07-15 04:01 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] jedishampoo.livejournal.com
I don't have that phobia at all. At least, I didn't before. I might now.

Ha, I hate cockroaches, but I'm really glad the ones out here are the "water bug" style of roach, and not the ones that get into your kitchen or your food or whatever. These usually hang around bathrooms and laundry rooms. Still gross. Ewwww!! Hurry, Joe the bug man, hurry!

*feeding into your fear of bugs crawling into your ear*

My parents lived on the Navajo reservation in Northern AZ for quite a while before I was born, and apparently he had just that very thing happen to him. A bug crawled into his ear while he was sleeping on the floor and died in his ear. He had to have somebody go in there and pull it out with tweezers. Gross, huh?! Thanks to that story I never sleep on the ground floor if I can help it.

I'm sure it's nothing, though!!

Yuk! I'm bringing all the bug-in-ear stories to the yard, ain't I? Heh.

So far I'm hating Mucinex D. Sleep, where art thou?

My ear got infected earlier this sumemr from the constant allergies I've been subjected too and there's still fluid on my ear now, argh! My family takes Zyrtec (well, actually the generic because it's, like, $5 cheaper!) and that's pretty ehavy duty but it gets the job done for me! Hugs!

Date: 2009-07-17 05:45 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] jedishampoo.livejournal.com
Zyrtec is over-the-counter, right? I don't care for the Mucinex D, 'cause it keeps me up. I should get the lower-dosage one and just take it in the morning.

Yup, it's over the counter. The Mucinex D, other than having one of the grossest names ever, just drives me nuts because it makes me spit everything out. I won't go into detail because it's nasty, but the last conversation I had with my sister about it included the phrase 'like string cheese' and that can never be good! xP

Okay, the cockroach in the ear is likely to give me nightmares for a month, omg ew ew ew! I always pull my hair over my ears at night when I get into bed - I'm so paranoid of bugs crawling in there.

I hope you can get the strange ear thing sorted out soon, and that it's nothing too troublesome. ♥

Date: 2009-07-17 05:49 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] jedishampoo.livejournal.com
Hah, you really do? Hee. It's nothing I've ever thought of, even now! Of course my bedroom is pretty bug-free. It's the downstairs here with bugs coming in. :)

(What I get concerned about is brushing against trees with my hair. I hate bugs falling off into my hair.)

Glad it sounds like your ear is probably something minor. Here's hoping it clears up quickly.

Bugs, huh? I get a lot of house spiders and silverfish in my room. The silverfish like to crawl in my dresser drawers and the house spiders freak me out because of my arachnaphobia. *shudders*

Whoo~ for the ficcage! Looking forward to trying to guess what you wrote. ;) Mine has been really slow going so far. I hope it picks up soon 'cause that deadline is approachin'.

Do you have anymore codes, left? If so, may I have one? I think just about everyone on my flist has DW accounts now, so I'm feeling the urge to go with the flow.

Date: 2009-07-17 05:53 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] jedishampoo.livejournal.com
Hey there, I sent you the code! Let me know if there's a problem,'cause I have others.

Thankfully we don't have silverfish here. We have spiders but they tend to stay in the downstairs, and if we spray regularly, we never see them. Sometimes we see dead black widows outside or in the garage after we spray (the live ones like to hide).

I'm sure you'll guess my story instantly. Though I may change up my disclaimer, just because of you! Bwah hah hah! :)

From: (Anonymous)
It worked! I'm all new and shiny (and empty) over there now. Thank you!

Black widows? Yikes!

Heheh, yes, I do tend to cheat using disclaimers. You gonna spoil my scheme? ;)
