I have a cold, urgh

I have what I think is my first cold in, what, three years? The cold winter and stuffy indoors of Indiana have done me in. How annoying! Oh, cold medicine, wherefore art thou?

AND I hear that a nice snowstorm is on its way here. Apparently we'll have three to five inches for the morning drive tomorrow! Yay.

But now for the good: I has a Kindle! Or at least, I will in a couple of days, when it's delivered to me. I didn't get the nice big-screen one (pricey), but I got the one with nationwide 3G and free wireless. Then if I decide I need a book and I'm sitting in a cornfield somewhere, I can still download it. :)

AND I finally got my iTunes all whipped into shape and have my iPod Nano-- the one I got nearly a year ago-- up and running well and being used regularly. I even bought some new music. Yes, I downloaded an album by Ke$ha. Yes, I'm ashamed. I also got me some new Duran Duran, woo! To get my street cred back, I got some stuff from Charlotte Hatherley, too. speaking of music, I'll post the answers to the un-guessed songs tomorrow or the next day to the music meme!

And oooh-- one of my new friends (waves to new friends from usxuk friending meme), jazzchyk, has done a picture of America from one of my stories! I had a goofy UK x US story called Infinity to One and it had a very dorky America wearing an Elvira dress for Halloween in a misguided attempt to scare England to death. Anyway, she's done this awesome drawing!

Enjoy your Kindle. Hey, I like most of Lady Gaga, so don't feel bad about Ke$ha, who I only know by name. Now that Ally is no longer going out with He Who Cannot Be Named, she's free to like as much pop music as she wants -- he only liked alternative.

I used to be an all-alternative girl myself... then I became a "all my CDs at least 10 years old" girl and lately I've been listening to top-40. There's been some catchy stuff lately. :)

1: I have had the most massive cold for the past 3 weeks. It will not go away. It is vile and evil.

2: We're having snow right now! I'm in Missouri, so it's right on the way to get you. *giggle*

3: Don't be ashamed of the Ke$ha album. I have it on my computer and like it a lot. A LOT. I have yet to get my streetcred back.

4: I love that story! (It's one of the ones I have on my E-reader). And it wasn't goofy! Hetalia was MADE for crack, and I thought that fit the bill very well!

You know I didn't realize you were so closeby! Most people I tend to friend wind up being forever far away, but you're basically right next door. Very cool. :)

Eee, everyone else is telling me it's a three-day cold! Don't want the three-week cold! Sorry to hear about your ickiness. And I may say I'm ashamed of my Ke$ha purchase, but it won't stop me from turning it up and bouncing in my seat and howling along with it. No-oh-wah-oh! No-oh-Wah-OH!

We did get the snow! But only like 3.5 inches. And the main roads are fine-- they were on it. Stay safe yourself. :) Missouri isn't too far, indeed. I just moved back to Indiana from Las Vegas, so I was far away. but the Midwest is close to everything, I'll say. Except L.A.

And thank you! Eee, I'm glad you like it. And personally, I agree-- I need my Hetalia characters to do goofy stuff now and then. Too serious and they lose themselves, yannow?

The kindle is the bestest thing ever invented after the PC. I download all my fanfic onto my kindle - I currently have over 80 stories on there. It's great. Provided you can managed a good porn!fic poker face, you are set for life ;)

I KNOW, I'm assuming I'll have shitloads of fanfic on my Kindle and no actual books. But seriously... I like to print my fanfic out and read it on paper, so I'm hoping this will work as a go-between and save some trees!

The colds have been really rough this winter. I had one hell of one over Thanksgiving weekend, and now am trying to avoid catching the plague that Ben has had since Sunday. Yay to the Kindle!

The Kindle has so many free books. So many. There are free mini-manga adaptations of Harlequin Romances (they end on cliffhangers so you'll buy the book for $4).
