* So I finally watched Shingeki no Kyojin and I love it! It's depressing as hell and very shounen but some of the characters are fantastic, especially the adult ones. I'm reading the manga now online and man, the art is very ??? I was spoiled by Minekura, I think.

* Do you ever think of something stupid you said or did like fifteen or twenty years ago, and get horribly embarrassed all over again? Gosh, that drives me NUTS! I wish I could stop doing it and stop feeling absolutely ridiculous. I sit there and wonder if the people I said those things to or did those things nearby still remember then and think, man, she is a total dork. (Online, it would only be the Club Jade members who knew me that long ago, LOL. You can tell me. I'll only freak out a little.)

* Do you ever lick the peanut butter off your knife and do it sideways with an evil glare, as if you were cleansing your sword of the blood of your enemies? I was just doing that.

#2: ALL THE TIME! Gah. You know, if it happened more than a year ago and it was merely embarrassing, not something a person ought to be ashamed of, then it shouldn't have to power to still embarrass. And yet? GAH! So I feel ya, bebeh.

#3: *shifty eyes* Doesn't everyone? (It's even more realistic when it's strawberry or raspberry jam. Ahem.)

That was a rather brilliant plan, then!

1. The daughter keeps dangling Shingeki in front of my nose. I haven't leapt yet.

2. Yes. Oh, hell. I remember embarrassing things I said and did when I was a kid and they still embarrass me. Fortunately, I've gotten to the point of to hell with embarrassment, if there is no harm meant, just say whatever. Constipated communication is worse.

3. *blinks* Why bother with peanut butter when you can just do it with the blood of your enemies? No, but I have done the around the wrist meat-juice licking thing with the same premise in mind when eating a really rare steak (very sloppily.)

1) I've got the first volume of the manga but I'm circling it with caution. Especially if it's depressing.

2) Jebus. Yes. So many "do overs" I wish for. It shouldn't matter, but OMG, it does. I'M SO SORRY EVERYONE!! (Thank you for saying that, I thought I was just weird.)

3) Of course.

4) you're filled with awesome, you know that? I love how your brain works.

I know this sounds stupidly hipster of me, but I'm not a huge fan of SnK! I think it's good but I honestly do not understand the hype. The main reason I haven't loved it is *because* of how popular it is. I expected something amazing, I guess. Might be also bc I started on the manga which is, as you said, fugly!

But perhaps I should give the anime another go. I got as far as ep 10 or so..

Ooh ok. Hm. I'll give it another go. I feel like 10 eps and several manga volumes should be enough, but maybe some amines just take a looooong time to gain momentum.

Mikasa feels a bit dry to me... But I have to say I tend to be quite critical of female characters.

I actually had one of those embarrassment moments last week, but I can't remember what over. Fortunately I still can't remember or I would be all embarrassed all over again!

I have been known to lick knives. Although my tongue ring tends to get in the way these days. I can't say I've ever treated a knife like Farfie from Weiss though!

Haven't heard of this anime. Sometimes I think I live in a box when it comes to new stuff. I've been dividing my time between Kenichi, the Mightiest Disciple and Fairy Tail, which is pretty amusing so far.

the older characters, eh? hehehe. i don't know whether or not to depressed when i get sucked into that fandom and encounter all the references to these older characters as "old men." makes me wanna be like, shut up, brats. and then i realize it's probably because i'm close to becoming one of those "old men."

embarrassment never dies! idk if you've ever seen Katekyo Hitman Reborn...the start has this kind of Archie comic wholesome feeling stupid. and in episode 10 (?), the main character gets cursed with these skull tattoo like things all over his body that randomly spurt embarrassing stuff he's done in his sad, short life. like, "how embarrassing! you used to think the world cup was a kind of cup ramen!" every story begins with "how embarrassing!" and i always wanna laugh because it's so painfully true.

licking things off knives is super fun like that. i just relocated and haven't gotten acquainted with the local brands of peanut butter yet, but you just reminded me that i've been craving some.

haha.

lol. yes. pixis and titans sure put things in perspective on the age front. :) have you been checking out much of the fic/art? it's such an explosive fandom, especially on the AU front, i think.

KHR has a special place in my heart for the being the series that dragged me straight into m/m fandom. Before that, I had sat through series like Prince of Tennis with no fangirl lenses at all, if anyone can believe. Haha. SmH at self. That's what happens when you try to get into anime on your own, I guess.

I just hopped across the way to Matthewland, aka Canada. :) I'm on the French side, so there has been a higher degree of culture shock than expected...I've basically been skipping around places teaching classes in temporary positions for the past 2 years.

Oh, something you might enjoy, though...I'm going to show the Journey to the West cartoon, Havoc in Heaven, in one of my classes and I'm trying to figure out what Minekura to assign with it. It will likely be Gaiden, just because it's the part of the series that corresponds to that episode in the novel.
