So this is weird--
sharpeslass and I were driving to work and we were thinking about
lexsara and wishing we'd seen the OOTP movie with her and discussing her Potter-ships and wondering how many times we could call her on Saturday to discuss the book. And she was right there with us, based on her last post. Love you, darlin'!
(PS, thought the movie OOTP was really, really good. We'll probably see it a third time this week.)
Cut for HP book rambling, couple of my hopes for DH, not eloquent.
Severus Snape: I know there will be questions after Deathly Hallows. But I really, really want some sort of resolution for Professor Snape. It doesn't have to be a happy resolution, but I just want to know the hows, whens, wheres and whys.

lexsara, I like many characters but at heart I'm a Snape-woman! I thought he was the coolest character from the first book. I can't possibly 'ship him, just 'cause, really, who would want to date someone that angry and doomed on a long-term basis? I just love to read about him. I just re-read OOTP (waited till after the movie) and HBP this weekend. JKR has taken a character who could have been as one-dimensional as the male Dursleys and painted him so grey and layered that I can't resist him. Dumbledore's pleading could have meant anything! Severus, please rescue me, or Severus, please kill me. Squee!
Shipping: Eh. I find it difficult to 'ship Potter-verse. It was certainly fun to read about everyone's romantic entanglements once they reached puberty, but I feel weird 'shipping the under-18 set, and as for the adults, I can't explain why, but I just don't actively hook any of them up in my mind, either. If pressed, I'd say that I'd be somewhat interested to see something in DH OTHER than Hermione/Ron and Harry/Ginny, 'cause they're just boring to me. I see the logic of Harry/Ginny. Ginny is cool, and it would be nice for the Weasleys to have Harry in the family, but it's so clear that she was always meant for Harry. Too predictable. Same with Hermione/Ron. Hermione needs more, if you ask me. Ron is not my favorite character, because I just feel too sorry for him. He's like Hagrid, for me (or the Office)-- the stuff he does just makes me want to groan in embarassment.
I suppose dunno, if asked I might admit to a bit if Harry/Hermione prejudice-- just a little mind you, and I can't necessarily defend it-- and possibly Ron/Luna. Luna is cool. Or I'll stretch, and say Lupin/Sibyll. I've written the fanfic! Bwah hah hah!
I picked up the "Trust Snape" sticker from Borders when I pre-ordered. Only five more days!! We're having shepherd's pie, butterbeer (apparently, cream soda and butterscotch schnapps) and pumpkin pasties. And cigarettes, and the couch, and Deathly Hallows.
PS: Any other wantons want to exchange cell phone numbers, since we can't make the read-in, so we may bother y'all? Bwah hah!
