So, ever swapped fandoms with your RL friends? :)

[livejournal.com profile] lexsara has been here for a week, and leaves tonight. [livejournal.com profile] sharpeslass and I will miss her! It's been fun catching up and swapping fandoms with her. She showed us two seasons of Torchwood, I showed her ANIME bwahahah, and [livejournal.com profile] sharpeslass showed her some horror movies starring Jeffrey Combs.

Torchwood wasn't bad, if a bit depressing. I would definitely watch it if it was on. I like Gwen (and Rhys is AWESOME), and I like Captain Jack much also. I want to smack Tosh half the time.

I wibbled about what to show her of my current obsessions-- I started Saiyuki on anime but now I love the manga more, but for swapping, anime is definitely more accessible-- especially if everyone is sitting in front of the TV. I couldn't really hand her 18 volumes of manga and say "read these now." But she really liked the anime, and wants to watch more of it, she said! I jumped all around the 100 available episodes, trying to find a mix of fun and angst, backstory and arcs. I also made her watch some Cowboy Bebop, which she also said she liked. (Last year I made her watch Howl's Moving Castle and Samurai Champloo.) I love fellow friends in their 30s who will give anime a chance.

Today, since it's her last day, is PIZZA from ROSATI's day. It's some really amazing, and amazingly expensive, Chicago-style pizza. And they deliver. Looking forward to that.

Yummmm. I love Rosati's. It's what we usually order at my mom's, although I can't say it's all that expensive in Chicago. At least the regular ol' thin crust isn't! Soo good.

Well, we say expensive because we can get a similar-sized pizza from most other delivery places for $9.95 (there is a lot of competition in our area), but we'll still pay $22 plus tip for a Rosati's thin-crust (and more for the Chicago-style). :) It's totally worth it, if we have the extra money to spend! It was yummy tonight, too. [livejournal.com profile] lexsara was impressed.
