Post the first lines from your last 20 stories. Do you see a pattern?

Actually.... I'm not sure I do, except for the very last two. Darnit? Ah, well. Actually, I laughed out loud at pulling out numbers 10 and 14, 'cause one is really silly, and the other is just... Hee!

1. “Priest Saaaaaaanzo!”

2. What the hell am I doing here? Gojyo wondered.

3. The woman clutched the serving-tray beneath her breasts like it was something precious.

4. Some things were harder to capture and bind than others.

5. “I’m so happy we’ve found each other, Gonou!”

6. The youkai town had proved mystifying, surprising, and seductive.

7. “You’re very pretty,” the boss-lady youkai told Gojyo, swiping a pink tongue across her full, purple lips.

8. “Ouch,” Sanzo said. “Fuck, that hurts.”

9. It seemed that whenever Hakkai awoke from nothing, he always saw the same face.

10. Gojyo discovered that the sweet, sweet afterglow of secret love was hard to maintain in the cold, cold reality of two weeks of dingy towns and youkai attacks, several nights sleeping in the woods, and a pretty, pretty monk with a nasty, nasty attitude.

11. Someone had been caught; someone had been hanged.

12. The fluorescent grocery-store lights were giving her a headache.

13. "Do you love me?" the woman asked, voice sensual with that after-sex languor.

14. Boop.

15. Howl laid the spell-page on the workbench, then set his hands on his hips and looked down at Markl.

16. The silly boy talked and talked about the Peace like he’d invented it.

17. Clouds were certainly pretty, when seen from the ground. But not many people realized just how chilly and wet they were up close.

18. “Goddamn--” Bush said, and then the shattering boom of two hundred thousand tons of French powder exploding cut off either his voice, or his hearing, or both.

19. Lady Barbara Hornblower was conferring with her housekeeper in the drawing room when she heard the front door slam with a loud bang, and the even louder hoarse cackles of her husband’s laughter.

20. Laisa Toscane was having a nicely businesslike conversation with Lord Vorsmythe when the man paused in midsentence, eyes filling with a strange, slightly alarmed look.

lol these are read like some quotation collection...
It's a quite amusing mix...I guess it depends on your mood which way you start a story, no? Whether you choose one single word or rather an explanation..

Yeah, whatever pops into my head first. (And I remember the first line from your last story. It was porny from the very beginning, heh heh. How's that going, BTW?)

It says something about you, the first line of a story.
It will be posted on the 15th, on 'saltydogstories'. It's like that: you write a fiction for someone and someone writes a fiction for you, and both don't know from whom the fiction is until the mod tells everybody who, of those who signed up for it, wrote it. I thought it would be fun, joining such a challenge thing once.

Ah! It is fun, for me, to join those. It makes me write!

What an interesting collection of lines! They all look really interesting, I am going to have to go back through some of your stories to see which ones are which. I recognize 1 of course, that was great!

Number 2 looks interesting, because I'm a perv, and for the same reasons I must go off and look for 8 *leers*

Unfortunately #2 is all about angst. I am mostly embarrassed about #10 sitting out there, all by its lonesome without context.

:)

We'll see what you get on yours! Hee.

But it not having a context makes it all the more fun! You've got me curious now and I have to go and have a trawl though your fiction ;-)

I just posted mine and it's very disappointing to be honest. *sigh*

Very interesting, intriguing and different! Maybe I can learn something from you!

Well, they were more different than I'd feared they would be. ::whew:: :) But hey, as long as the stories are different, that's what matters, right? Why do they think up these memes to torture us? Hee!

(Though I'm attempting to write a 585 for Sharpeslass right now, and I've written the first sentence like six times already, and crossed it out six times. None of them are bad, but none of them are sparking an actual story. Argh, writer's block!)

Boop!

Haha, they actually sort of do! Thanks for pointing that out. And y'know, that's actually something I requested on the kink meme that nobody has touched yet, sigh. "Sanzo watches Gojyo have sex with a GURL."

I know! I'd write it, except I'd rather READ it. ;)

Oh those were fun to read in that order...kind of like a twisted yet compelling story. As I told your counterpart, I'm just glad you guys are writing. Me, I wish the muse would return. I really do. I just can't seem to bring her out of the shadows. At least not to write anything non-ethical or broadcast writing related.

But hey, your stories are always lovely, and fun to read...and I enjoyed all these first lines. Keep writing so you can inspire me and someday, the muse will return!

Thank you sweetie! You've had a tough couple of months... you'll get to writing again and having fun that way. You're good at it. :)
