Post the first lines from your last 20 stories. Do you see a pattern?

Actually.... I'm not sure I do, except for the very last two. Darnit? Ah, well. Actually, I laughed out loud at pulling out numbers 10 and 14, 'cause one is really silly, and the other is just... Hee!

1. “Priest Saaaaaaanzo!”

2. What the hell am I doing here? Gojyo wondered.

3. The woman clutched the serving-tray beneath her breasts like it was something precious.

4. Some things were harder to capture and bind than others.

5. “I’m so happy we’ve found each other, Gonou!”

6. The youkai town had proved mystifying, surprising, and seductive.

7. “You’re very pretty,” the boss-lady youkai told Gojyo, swiping a pink tongue across her full, purple lips.

8. “Ouch,” Sanzo said. “Fuck, that hurts.”

9. It seemed that whenever Hakkai awoke from nothing, he always saw the same face.

10. Gojyo discovered that the sweet, sweet afterglow of secret love was hard to maintain in the cold, cold reality of two weeks of dingy towns and youkai attacks, several nights sleeping in the woods, and a pretty, pretty monk with a nasty, nasty attitude.

11. Someone had been caught; someone had been hanged.

12. The fluorescent grocery-store lights were giving her a headache.

13. "Do you love me?" the woman asked, voice sensual with that after-sex languor.

14. Boop.

15. Howl laid the spell-page on the workbench, then set his hands on his hips and looked down at Markl.

16. The silly boy talked and talked about the Peace like he’d invented it.

17. Clouds were certainly pretty, when seen from the ground. But not many people realized just how chilly and wet they were up close.

18. “Goddamn--” Bush said, and then the shattering boom of two hundred thousand tons of French powder exploding cut off either his voice, or his hearing, or both.

19. Lady Barbara Hornblower was conferring with her housekeeper in the drawing room when she heard the front door slam with a loud bang, and the even louder hoarse cackles of her husband’s laughter.

20. Laisa Toscane was having a nicely businesslike conversation with Lord Vorsmythe when the man paused in midsentence, eyes filling with a strange, slightly alarmed look.

It says something about you, the first line of a story.
It will be posted on the 15th, on 'saltydogstories'. It's like that: you write a fiction for someone and someone writes a fiction for you, and both don't know from whom the fiction is until the mod tells everybody who, of those who signed up for it, wrote it. I thought it would be fun, joining such a challenge thing once.

Ah! It is fun, for me, to join those. It makes me write!
